คิดจะออกจากงานประจำมาทำธุรกิจส่วนตัว ควรอธิษฐานอย่างไร?Thinking of Leaving a Salaried Job to Start Your Own Business — How Should You Make the Aspiration?
Pra Ajarn advises that before aspiring, understand that about 90% of small private businesses fail, because every component must be 'sufficient.' So start by working as an employee in the kind of business you want, taking on the feeling of being the owner; and an aspiration only succeeds once the merit is complete in full measure — illustrated with his own experience of clearing a business's impurity through meditation.
Someone asked: I'm planning to leave a salaried job to start my own business — how should I make the aspiration?
First Understand That About 90% of Small Businesses Fail
Before asking how to aspire, first look: surveys found that about 90% of small businesses established fail, because every component must be 'sufficient.' Luang Phor gave the principle: merit, , capital, team, and one's own mind must all be sufficient — and these components are hard to have.
Start by Working as an Employee, Taking On the Feeling of Being the Owner
So start small. Whatever kind of business you want, work as an employee in that kind of company or shop, and take on the feeling of being the owner: if I were the owner, what would I do? You'll learn how many customers there'll be, how to plan, where a location should be — testing through someone already doing it, helping them manage, offering ideas as if you were the owner yourself. When your ideas are good and you work hard, they'll see that partnering with you would go well, and won't want you to leave — perhaps offering a partnership. That's like founding a company with a team already in place, without investing your own money from the start.
If Investing Yourself, First Meditate to Clear the Business's Impurity
If you truly invest yourself, meditate and resolve that you'll found this kind of business, then clear away the business's im before setting it up. There you'll know just how severe it is. When Pra Ajarn first started a business, it was the same: resolving to do a certain business and then meditating to clear the impurity — normally able to sit three hours comfortably, he could sit only five or ten minutes before nearly collapsing, unable to bear it, because the impurity was great and the merit-power not yet enough, straining against the to near exhaustion.
An Aspiration Succeeds Only Once the Merit Is Complete in Full Measure
Don't aspire prematurely, because aspiration is setting one's wish for system to program — which must wait until the merit is complete in full measure. It isn't that aspiring lets you do it at once. The larger the business, the more merit is needed to set the program, until it's complete in full measure, and only then act. And after setting it, more merit is still needed to drive the system. Even with money, it can't be done, because merit is behind it; if the merit-power isn't enough, brings impurity to ruin it utterly.
A Business, Once Begun, Is Hard to Stop
Someone shared a view: they know an elderly businessman who was advised to do less, but he said he couldn't, because once you begin a business you must keep going — it's hard to stop, like riding a tiger; you must run the process to the end, not like selling grilled pork that you can stop anytime. The more problems arise, the more endlessly you must solve them.
