Pra Ajarn rejoices and explains that impurity had been the obstacle, but the inner knower and inner power are always working to help us succeed.
Someone shared that after listening to a teaching Pra Ajarn once gave on gratitude, they had never before been able to feel the sense of a mother's love for her child while radiating — but today, they were able to do it, by recalling that feeling of a mother's love for her child.
Pra Ajarn rejoiced, saying it's wonderful — keep practicing, and it happens on its own. The reason it couldn't be done before was im standing in the way. But as we keep practicing, merit draws in and clears that impurity away. The empowered one within is constantly trying to help us succeed. So they work together to fix it — if it doesn't work this time, try again next time, and eventually it will happen on its own, because we already have an inner knower and an empowered one looking after and helping us; they want us to succeed. The knower guides us in a way that feels like our own thought, while the empowered one refines and clears away the impurities so that we're able to do it.
