การบริโภคสื่อสีดำมีผลต่อจิตใจอย่างไร และควรเลือกเสพสื่ออย่างไรHow Does Consuming Dark Media Affect the Mind, and What Should We Choose to Watch Instead?

"Light" media, by contrast, helps keep the mind clear and connected to the wholesome system. The teacher suggests recollecting death and practicing meditation to keep the mind anchored there.
Someone asked the teacher whether consuming "dark" media relates to a person's proportion of the three natural forces.
Why Dark Media Pulls the Mind Down
The teacher explained that those who consume dark media tend to have a clouded mind with unsteady, swinging emotions, unlike those who consume light media, whose minds stay clear and steady. The urge to watch dark content doesn't arise on its own — behind it is an unwholesome state of greed, aversion, delusion, or lust quietly steering us. Once we consume that content, it draws in even darker, coarser mental states, and the flow of unwholesome influence accelerates and deepens the more we consume — the mind grows heavier and murkier, the body feels weighed down, and eventually meditation itself becomes impossible because the mind sinks into darkness. Recovering from that takes considerable time and effort.
Whatever we take in through the eyes and ears, if it's dark content, it damages the quality of seeing and hearing themselves, gradually eroding the refined sensitivity of these faculties.
What Light Media Does
By contrast, staying within system and consuming light media draws pure energy in, refining our inner elements and moving us continuously toward more refined states, together with richer streams of merit and more finely detailed outcomes. Whether we end up gravitating toward light or dark media in any given moment depends on which of the three forces holds the upper hand in us at that time.
How to Practice Recollection of Death
Someone asked how recollection of death compares to meditating twice a day, and how exactly one should visualize death. The teacher explained that recollecting death makes us feel how limited our time is, prompting us to prepare in advance by staying within the wholesome system. The moment we recall death, rises to meet it. Whatever form of practice we choose — recollecting death, chanting, or the ten daily practices — they all share the same goal: establishing wholesome states and sustaining them continuously. If one method grows tiresome, switching to another that feels more enjoyable is fine; there's no need to force it too hard.
