Someone asked: does making merit on a major holy day, versus on an ordinary but more convenient day, give very different results?
If we wait for a holy day to make merit, we might only get to do it once a week. But if we don't wait, we can do it every day — even several times a day. So why wait? He compared it to a farmer who should plow often, and rain that should fall often. We're the same: doing good means accumulating good often. Don't wait for the holy day that comes only once a week — do it every day. Because every time we act, the Triple Gem shines brightly within us, nibbāna shines brightly within us, and the stream of giving flows in together with treasures and accomplished outcomes. Should this wonder happen only on the holy day, or every single day? It should happen every day — again and again, every day.
