The ten perfections (บารมี 10 ทัศ) are "a tool that must turn to the right" — they work in tandem, so that, say, the perfection of resolve (อธิษฐานบารมี) needs the perfection of truthfulness (สัจจบารมี) underneath it to succeed. There are also two types of perfection-builders — the "conveyor belt" type, who always pass behavior along in the same direction, and the "gear" type, who turn opposite whatever is turning next to them — and if we don't call on him for help, we get the perfection of patience (ขันติบารมี) instead, earned by our own sweat and endurance.
