พยายามขายทรัพย์สินมาหลายปีแต่ยังขายไม่ได้ ควรทำอย่างไรให้ถูกหลักวิชาStruggling to Sell Property for Years With No Success — What Is the Correct Approach?
Someone asked on behalf of a person who had tried unsuccessfully for years to sell property and ended up seeking a fortune-teller's advice to make offerings to a local spirit. The correct approach is instead to make an aspiration backed by merit and to dwell in contentment, letting the unseen "emperor" that manages our resources handle the timing.
Someone asked on behalf of a person they had encountered, who had been trying for years to sell a piece of property in order to use the funds, since they were financially stuck — but had never managed to sell it. Eventually they consulted a fortune-teller, who advised making offerings to the local guardian spirit. What is the actually correct approach, according to principle?
Making offerings to a guardian spirit is a form of relying on a deva, and a deva can only help once one's own merit already forms the foundation — the deva is then moved to want to help, rather than being coaxed or pleaded with. Without one's own merit as the basis, it has no effect. All resources are, in truth, overseen and allocated by an unseen "emperor" figure, who knows exactly how and when a given asset should be used. Sometimes an asset we hold is, in truth, not really ours to use — it is meant to pass on to our children and descendants, not an asset meant to come to us directly — and that is why it cannot be used at that particular time.
If we want to act correctly, according to the discipline, the way is to make an aspiration of the mind: if we wish to sell, we generate the cause of merit and then make the aspiration — that alone is enough. The overseeing "emperor" will then know whether this asset is truly suited to be sold at this time. If it truly is, it will be managed and allowed to happen, so long as we are not in genuine dire need. People often want a great deal of money, but once obtained, it tends to simply be spent and gone; sometimes keeping an asset in reserve serves a future benefit that the overseeing power already understands, even though we as humans cannot know the future — and so we tend to hope only for the present, led by craving or unwholesome impulse.
So, to abide correctly according to the wholesome principle, the way is to make the aspiration of the mind and then dwell in — being sfied with what we already have and are. If we wish for something, we generate the cause of merit and make the aspiration, then leave the management to the one who already knows how to manage it. If our wanting is still being driven by unwholesome craving, then even that overseeing power cannot make it happen for us.
